Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader, committee member, or sender team member, by attending a Young Life fundraising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Sender Teams

Despite the abilities & sacrifices of our leaders, ministry will struggle without a body of people who will pray and support them in their labor with young people in the community. Sender Teams are a group of parents and adults who partner with YL leaders at a specific school by:

1. Praying for leaders, kids, and the community at large.

2. Promoting the mission of Young Life within your circle of friends and church. Helping to make events such as the annual YL Banquet known to raise public awareness.

3. Providing for the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the leaders as they reach out to kids. Help to coordinate resources to raise the local YL budget.

4. Planning with the local Committee to coordinate events like parents’ nights and the YL banquet.

Currently, Solanco's Sender Team meets the second Wednesday of the month at 1pm. Please contact Sarah Rufo (717-201-3085) for more information.

Penn Manor's Sender Team meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Please contact Erin Parrish (484-947-7781) for more information.

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life'sponsored activities.
